2.4 Order of precedence. Unless otherwise noted herein or in the contract, in the event of
a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this
document take precedence. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and
regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained.
3. REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Qualification. Anti-G garments furnished under this specification shall be products that
are authorized by the qualifying activity for listing on the applicable qualified products list
before contract award (see 4.3 and 6.5).
3.2 First article. When specified (see 6.2), samples shall be subjected to first article
inspection in accordance with 4.4.
3.3 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or
environmentally preferable materials shall be used to the maximum extent possible, provided
that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes
economically advantageous life cycle costs.
3.4 Materials and components. Except for the metallic materials and parts, unless
otherwise specified the materials and components shall have been manufactured not greater
than 24 months prior to the date of delivery of the anti-G garment. All materials and assembled
anti-G garments shall be stored in an environmentally controlled area and protected in a manner
to prevent damage from ultra-violet light and environmental contaminants.
3.4.1 Basic materials.
3.4.1.1 High temperature resistant cloth. Except for the bladder, the basic fabric for the
